Dr Shelley Hoyne

Shelley believes in not only adjusting the spine, pelvis and extremities and affecting the nervous system but also working on the muscles and areas that need special attention. Shelley is particularly interested in addressing headaches and migraines, as she suffered greatly from these as a child. Shelley is also passionate about the role lifestyle factors, such as food choices, have on a patient's health.

Shelley holds a double Bachelor of Chiropractic and Bachelor of Musculoskeletal Therapy (MST) and Remedial Massage. Following high school, she moved to Brisbane and gained a Bachelor of Science in MST and Remedial Massage. The urge for more knowledge saw Shelley move to Melbourne to study at RMIT University, where she earned a Bachelor of Science in Chiropractic. A move to Perth to complete her studies at Murdoch University saw Shelley gain a Distinction in her Bachelor of Chiropractic.

Her passion for chiropractic stems from recognising that chiropractic helped her recover from years of chronic migraines and fatigue, neck and debilitating back pain. In particular, the system of Gonstead Chiropractic saw Shelley's life dramatically improve after receiving regular Gonstead Chiropractic care and addressing lifestyle factors contributing to her chronic pain.

She is committed to maintaining the highest level of service and care for all her patients and making their experience educational, efficient and comforting.

Dr Leigh Hoyne

Leigh's history of Chronic lower back problems drove him to go back to high school as a mature-aged student intending to study Chiropractic.

Studying Chiropractic in Melbourne at RMIT - The Gonstead System of Chiropractic is encouraged to all students though only a few leave university perusing a practice pure to the Gonstead method. Leigh had a moment of realisation that he must become a Gonstead Chiropractor when he met Dr Joshua Free at the Gonstead Club held on campus every Wednesday night.

Dr Josh explained the importance of being specific and why a Gonstead Chiropractor takes the time to figure out how to get their patient to heal and get better. When Dr Josh explained the problem and how he would correct it, the whole process of Gonstead made sense; after the adjustment to his lower back, it was the first time he noticed a positive and significant change.

After three years honing his skills in WA, Leigh and his wife Shelley decided it was time to pursue their dreams of opening a country practice in Eumundi, Queensland. Since learning from Dr Josh and other Diplomates and Fellows of the Gonstead Chiropractic Society of Australia, Leigh has been in full-time Chiropractic practice under the guidance of Gonstead Diplomate Dr Scott Campbell-Lloyd in his native state of Western Australia.

During this time, he undertook and completed a two-year post-graduate Diplomate training program in Chiropractic Paediatrics. Every year Leigh attends Gonstead Seminars and other educational seminars to remain sharp with knowledge and always in the pursuit of improving as a Chiropractor.

Due to the Gonstead System of Chiropractic being a sort after technique, many people travelled long distances to see Leigh and Shelley in their Eumundi Clinic. In 2020 they expanded the business and opened a second clinic in Maryborough on The Fraser Coast to deliver much-needed Chiropractic care to those in regional areas. Leigh now splits his time between both clinics and thoroughly enjoys bringing the Gonstead Method to two communities and meeting many wonderful people.
